Akhkharu Hymns Productions

John Beers

Akhkharu Hymns Productions began as in 2003 but transitioned into a netlabel in early 2009. Aside from a pair of compilations featuring Pennsylvania-based black metal bands, AHP has primarily existed as the outlet for ambient/drone/noise project Luciftias.

Deep ambient soundscapes in the vein of Lull, Biosphere, and Coil's "Time Machines" album. Intended for headphone listening due to the heavy usage of brainwave synchronization.

The phrase "argedco dosig g manin" is Enochian for "invoke night in the mind". With that concept as a guideline, the members of Luciftias and Conqueror Worm set out to create a series of soundscapes that would aid in freeing one's mind from the ordinary. The material beckons the listener to let go of the physical and embrace the intangible. ...a word of warning, however. Some of the tracks utilize a technique known as brainwave synchronization. When using headphones to...

The second release from Luciftias has more in common with Boyd Rice's work with NON than the dark ambient approach found on later material

Italy's Inchiostrum Records released the Textures CD on July 25, 2010. Each copy included an A4 size poster of original artwork by Luciftias. Inchiostrum went the way of many independent labels and Textures went out-of-print. Akhkharu Hymns Productions re-released it via Bandcamp and included hi-res images of the original A4 poster and two other unused designs. The material is a bit like Christeos Luciftias in approach (but without the industrial elements of that release) as each piece explores...

Though a conscious move away from the recent longform pieces on Akhkharu Hymns, the four tracks that make up "Droning Frehley" still contain the minimalist, droning ambience Luciftias is becoming known for. In a special twist, the track titles and certain aspects of the artwork have a unifying theme.

Recorded July 2016 at Libresonic Based on "Beyond the Velvet Sky" by Mister Vapor Thomas asked Luciftias to remix his 6-hour piece, "Beyond The Velvet Sky", a longform drone written using sferics (atmospheric discharges from the Earth). Luciftias responded with this hypnotic 9-hour opus.

Originally released July 11, 2009 by Quartier23's Notariqon netlabel, Void/Filament quickly became one of its top downloads. After Notariqon ceased operations, the original download became lost. Akhkharu Hymns Productions made this release available once again via Bandcamp in 2012 with a previously unreleased third track (recorded during the same general time frame as the other two) being included as a bonus.
